Banquet Table Layout & Diagrams

Need help determining how many people fit at a banquet table? Not sure how to configure banquet tables? On this page you will also find banquet room setup diagrams.

Setting up for banquets doesn't have to be a challenge. Reference our below banquet table layout examples to ensure that you maximize space, and create a comfortable setting for your guests.

Seating guests comfortably around round banquet tables

  • 2-3 people: use 30" diameter
  • 4 people: use 36" diameter 
  • 5 people: use 42" diameter 
  • 6 people: use 48" diameter 
  • 7-8 people: use 54" diameter
  • 8 people: use 60" diameter
  • 10 people: use 72" diameter

If you need to seat more than 10 guests at a round folding table, consider using serpentine or seminar tables

  • 3 people per side: use 18 x 72 seminar table
  • 4 people per side: use 18 x 96 seminar table

Seating guests comfortably around rectangular banquet tables

  • 4 people: use 30 x 48 
  • 6 people: use 30 x 72 
  • 8 people: use 30 x 96 (cap ends to seat 10 people)

If space is limited, you can add additional guests at each joint between connected tables (see red dot).

To create a comfortable seating arrangement and make best use of space, arrange round banquet tables as shown in the diagram to the right. This will allow plenty of space for your guests, and won't create a cramped atmosphere.
